CASE STUDY: Replate & Fooda partner to drive sustainable practices in Corporate America

One friend grows apples, another friend makes applesauce…the opportunity is clear. Work together.

Replate saw a similar symbiosis with Fooda.

The national catering organization serves nutritious food to a wide variety of corporate offices around the U.S., many of which have surplus food remaining after meals and sustainability goals to hit.

Meanwhile, Replate works with businesses to incorporate food recovery into their operational structure. In the same way companies adopt recycling and other forms of waste management solutions, Replate aims to shift corporate behavior and make food recovery a standard practice, and sought a way to expand upon its mission with enterprise clients.

The solution was obvious.

In 2022, Replate and Fooda combined forces, enabling businesses to receive high quality, diverse, and fresh food with the option of donating remaining meals to the community.

Fooda offers Replate’s food recovery service to all existing and new customers, allowing the brand to enhance its own social impact initiatives and support clients more holistically. Every client can track its own environmental and community impact, and Fooda receives metrics for the aggregate.

In turn, Replate has brought many new clients on board, including such noteworthy companies like Snapchat and Indeed.

Together, Fooda and Replate have donated more than 42,000 meals to local communities.

"During a tough economic period, it's incredible to see an organization like Fooda put an emphasis on the environment and community,” said Replate’s CEO and Founder Maen Mahfoud. “While other businesses are concerned solely with their bottom line, Fooda and its clients continue to demonstrate a commitment to corporate social responsibility - that's impressive.”

Fooda was equally pleased with the positive results of the partnership, particularly after learning its outreach helped save over 13 million gallons of water!

As they say, teamwork makes the dream work.
